T in the Park has been one of the big locations for festival-goers since 1994. It’s two original Scottish sites, Strathclyde Park and Balada airfield, played host to a massive array of international stars of all genres: the queen of hip-hop, Beyoncé, punk legends Rage Against the Machine, Muse, Coldplay, Eminem and Foo Fighters. T in the Park’s historical list of headliners reads like the charts of all-time great performers and musicians. The venue has since moved to Strathallan Castle, which received criticism in 2015 for the difficulty of traffic control into the area. Determined to deliver, T in the Park has made it their aim to respond and improve. 2016 sees an area that’s 1/3 bigger than previous years. Locations have been altered to make the entire event more accessible, and more staff members have been dedicated to zone management. This means you don’t have to worry about last year’s troubles, especially not with this year’s astonishing line-up.
The Stone Roses start things off on Friday 8th with support from the Courteeners, Alesso, James Morrison, and more. On Saturday, the incomparable Calvin Harris takes over proceedings with Bastille, The 1975, The Last Shadow Puppets, Kaiser Chiefs, Tinie Tempah. The list goes on. Finally, the Red Hot Chili Peppers bring the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to Scotland. They’re always guaranteed to put on a show with funk rock anthems from ‘Can’t Stop’ to ‘Californication’. They’re closing things down on Sunday 10th with excellent support from Chase & Status and Faithless. Day tickets start from £82.50, with extended camping tickets going up to around £205.00.
